After a brief introduction, there is a "Colonial Sailor’s Song" recalling the maritime aspects of Savannah’s history. We then leave the wharf beside the Savannah river, to reach the tranqullity of Savannah’s 200 year old squares, especially Chippewa Square where there is a monument to Ogglethorpe, founder of Savannah and of the colony of Georgia. A jolly tune follows "The planter’s song". The next section depicts a cool and windy scene at Tybee Island’s Atlantic beach. A military episode then depicts Fort Pulanski, including the breach of its walls by the Yankees during the Civil War. Lastly, a coda concludes this movement.
