These pieces are designed for the Club Date Pianist who customarily plays in the background. It is usual to include different styles, like jazz, Broadway, mixing the familiar and not-so-familiar but in the same musical styles. The pianist has different requirements depending upon the occasion. It has been my experience that folks love the contrast, but they love their favorite songs too. These six pieces are an effort to expand the existing repertoire and provide a friendly variety to the mix. Within this group there are two lead sheets and the other four are completely written out. Fake Books, which are popular, are usually always written like these lead sheets: Chord Symbols on Top, Musical Line, and Lyrics when available. The musical example (My Music Box) was recorded by the composer on her computer. This will give you a sample of what to expect -- not too hard to play -- friendly to easy listening audiences. If the quality of recording is found wanting, please excuse. The main thrust is to contribute to the variety and scope of this venue. More coming. .
