In composing this op. 133, Jadassohn sent a Nocturne musical greeting to his colleague Adolf Burose, the renowned pedagogue and solo flutist at the Royal Hungarian Opera at Budapest, who with the contribution of his method for the flute is counted among the pioneers of virtuoso flute technique. As a teacher with an excellent reputation and more than two decades of teaching experience, Jadassohn knew how to execute the Nocturne form while including several small and bigger challenges. This composition represents not only a beautiful piece of study literature for intermediate levels, but also an excellent addition to any chamber music repertoire.
