Reminiscent of Henry Fillmore's magnificent Lassus Trombone, Slim Trombone is one of several trombone "smears" that Fillmore wrote in the early part of the 20th century. Much easier than its musical cousin Lassus Trombone, David Shaffer's arrangement brings this long-lost gem back into the libraries of modern concert bands. Carefully scored for today's concert band instrumentation, the delightful melodies and slidin' trombones will make this piece a favorite of your students and your audience.
